Gingerbread Traditions

Remember “Hansel & Gretel”?  We can thank the Brothers Grimm and their famous fairy tale for the popularization of gingerbread houses in Europe.  German settlers brought this spicy delicacy with them to the Americas, and for many of us the sweet scent of gingerbread is as much a part of Christmastime as the smell of a fresh pine tree.  In fact, gingerbread houses have become so engrainedin American tradition that the president’s pastry chefs build a gingerbread replica of the White House annually.

Best Wishes for a ‘Sweet & Spicy’ Holiday Season!
